Summer Temperature Controlled Shipping FAQ'sUpdated 9 months ago

Summer Temp-Controlled Shipping Information
  1. Temp-controlled solutions are available for all states we ship to in the summertime.
  2. Any order can have an ice packs added at checkout for $20/order, regardless of order size. For ice pack lifespans and integrity upon receipt to yourself, please see item #6 on this list.
  3. For central and eastern states, your order is complimentary cold-shipped cross country by a third-party cold shipping service. During this time, you will not receive traditional shipping updates. Tracking updates will begin at the time your carrier of choice picks up the package from your local cold storage facility. Ice packs are added to your package at the time of carrier pickup for the final leg of the trip. For ice pack lifespans and integrity upon receipt to yourself, please see item #6 on this list.
  4. Temp-controlled shipping for central and eastern states can take up to 14 calendar days from the time of order placement for the first delivery attempt. Please monitor your inbox for tracking from your carrier of choice once it's in their hands. Typically the first delivery attempt will be 1-3 days from that time; see your carrier's tracking information for the first projected delivery date.
  5. Regardless of western, central, or eastern states, it is imperative you are available for the first delivery attempt if you are purchasing the final mile ice pack for $20/order. Ice packs will keep the wine cool (not cold) for up to 72 hours and are not replaced by your carrier of choice. If you believe you will miss your first delivery attempt for any reason, please set your shipping destination to the nearest FedEx or UPS location for pickup at the time of checkout to avoid any missed delivery attempts. Generally speaking these types of businesses are climate controlled (AC, storing packages out of direct sunlight). If you have any concerns about climate control in your local FedEx or UPS location for pickup, please contact them directly to confirm before shipping to that location.
  6. Ice packs will generally not arrive as solid, frozen blocks. This is by design. The intent is to keep the wine cool, not cold or frozen. If you receive your wine on the first delivery attempt and you see corks protruding from the bottles, this is a sign of heat damage - please contact [email protected] immediately if this occurs. If your corks are intact, then the ice pack has done its job, even if the ice pack has fully melted and the bottles are not cold to the touch.
  7. We are not liable for weather damages due to missed delivery attempts via this service.
  8. For any further questions regarding this service please contact [email protected].
